Co-operative Bank – Post Implementation IS Audit

Challenge

A Multi-state Schedule bank having network of 90+ branches had an objective of assuming leadership position in banking sector. The bank had selected internationally reputed software by Infosys as banking software. In the initial stages of implementation it had faced lot of problems in data migration and usage of functional and security features offered by the software. The bank therefore decided to conduct detailed post implementation audit of the software.

Solution

The audit covered three basic areas like application software features and its usage, project implementation strategies, methodologies and documentation at various stages and data migration review.

During post implementation review the entire set of processes from planning, scheduling, manning, documenting, to monitoring were studied. Project leaders, users, Steering Committee Team members were interviewed and the analytical report was presented to the board.

Result

As a result, the bank got inputs on areas of improvement, unutilized features of the software, direction for improving controls, handling, technology integrations and information security which will go a long way in providing leadership to the bank in the banking sector and thus increase its revenue potentials with reduced technology risk.
